A white dial watch is more easily read in very bright environments and extreme conditions, such as in the Arctic during the summer months. These search and rescue, tactical watches are forged to withstand the most severe conditions – including, snow-blinding Arctic winters, where time is of the essence and visibility is essential.
It is water resistant down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. Built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the watch is a high quality, purpose built watch that will reliably accompany you wherever you take it. The rugged case, with solid flared crown guards, has a satin-brushed finish.
The white dial shows both 12-hour and military style 24-hour time with a date window at the 4:30 position. The dial is protected with a scratch resistant flat sapphire glass crystal with an anti reflective coating to ensure that the dial can be easily read even under direct sunlight or deep underwater.
The extra thick 120-click uni-directional bezel features large grooves which enable it to be rotated under all conditions - even when wearing gloves underwater. Whilst the black anodized bezel insert is engraved with white 60-minute markings for clear visibility and has a MaraGlo luminous triangle pip at the 12 o’clock position. The deeply knurled screw-down crown is also adjustable with wet hands or when wearing gloves.
The Marathon TSAR Search and Rescue Dive Watch is handmade in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Inside the TSAR is a Swiss made, high torque, 3 jewel ETA F06 Quartz movement. The ETA F06 is accurate to -0.3/+0.5 seconds per day and includes an End of Life (EOL) indicator that will advance the seconds hand once every 4 seconds to inform you that a battery change is needed, guaranteeing a very reliable and accurate timekeeping experience.
The TSAR uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations. A gas tube is placed on each hour marker and each syringe-style hand. MaraGlo luminescence is used for the 12 hour bezel marker. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photo-luminescent paint which requires an external light source to create a glow.
The watch comes with a high quality and extremely comfortable vulcanized rubber strap with the Marathon emblem etched into one of the keepers.
The Marathon Arctic TSAR Search & Rescue Dive Watch combines Military toughness with Swiss craftsmanship in a watch that will get the job done, and look good doing it.
